And no unfortunately, it hasn't got a foil. It's an older version of the 436 model. The drum looks Identical but the upper spindle is larger than the newest ones and doesn't have that"cranelike"fitting attached. Not really sure what that fitting is for.Everything seems to spin nicely.
I'm trying to get some guidance as to how to best install.Specifically,I'm interested in not putting a cable inside my hank on jib.Harken sells a setup like the one I have that includes a second spindle and is designed for this purpose[Eliminating the cable in jibluff].But I can not find an installation diagram or picture anywhere. All I have read is the second spindle is attached to the jib halyard. For the life of me I can not visualize how this could work. All I see is a twisted mess aloft.
Has anyone had any experience with this type of furling?Of course I could always put the cable into the luff but this arrangement would let me change headsails easier.
