As much as I hate to do it, I sold the "Starlyte".
Always a great girl, I enjoyed the Cr##p out of that thing.
My girl is pretty sick and not doing very well, we have to scale down a bit.
I look forward to gettting another maby in the next couple of years! I am fortunate that I sold it to another O'Day lover. Who will take care of her.
Tons of gratitude and my appreciation to all you guys who were kind enough to share experiences and tips, I love all you guys!
I'll miss the "Starlyte" an exceptional gal........

Thanks Guys, as it is, the buyer pulled out and offered me 2k, claiming he has no cash...I have 1400 in dockage for this season. I think I'll keep her for that...damn....We'll see how it goes!

Just play it by ear for a while and see how it works out Kevin.

This year I got off to a bad start when my outboard had problems. I missed the whole month of July on the water and it cost me big bucks to get it repaired.

Today I went down to the club and got my boat to the dock and took my mast down. I didn't bring the trailer because the tide won't be high until late evening. Tomorrow I'll bring the trailer down in the morning and pull her out of the water and bring her home.

I do overnighters and it's getting too cold for that. I've always hated September ever since I was a little kid. This time of year is always depressing for me. I'd just as soon have her home and take my time emptying her out. Anyway, I still have my kayak to use.

I know what you mean Joe. Come September I feel like I should be either getting ready to go back to school, or haul the boat. I don't wanna grow up...I don't wanna go to school! Down here in the Virginia, the boating/sailing season is just kicking off...again. This past summer, it was just plain too hot. Sailing is great now and it's time to get ready for the Rockfish season, and the beginning of Oct is the "Turkey Trot Regatta"...always a good time. Time to haul out is the end of Dec or if your really tough, beginning of Jan.

I just pulled my boat out this morning and brought her home. I helped my friend Wayne get his sails down and folded. He took his mast down and put his boat on the mooring. He's coming back tomorrow morning with his trailer and pull it out. He and his wife are planning on taking a trip to Vegas in a week or two and he doesn't want to leave his boat in the water.

I was the same way when I was a kid. I didn't want to go to school and I didn't want summer to end. Those feelings never seem to go away.

I'm thinking of leaving her on the trailer this year. I'll just jack the trailer up off the ground instead of putting her on boat stands like I do every year. The bottom paint isn't that bad. I'll just clean the bottom and touch her up next year.

I know Keith but the summer months down there are just too hot for me.
I just finished emptying my boat out of food and gear. I stripped the mast and removed my lifeline stanchions a little while ago. I plan on leaving her on the trailer this winter with the wheels jacked up off the ground. Winter can come pretty fast up here in the North country.
