Good guess as to what happened ?
I know of another boat which sunk in Kansas several years ago which was also an Ericson. The problem was that the cockpit drains were below the waterline and had seacocks that had to be left open in order for the cockpit to drain. They froze and down it went. I know of several Ericson owners which have moved their drains to be above the waterline.By the way, when I checked with my insurer about leaving in over the winter I found out, after much research, that the boat would not be covered due to a freezing problem. I think that Boat US has a seperate rider for winter in water storage. If we don't get any rain here the boat will hard aground. Worst drought in years and the lakes and rivers are at their lowest recorded level. I would love to have the east coast snow here.
