At work today a coworker that has a boat told me that a lot of people at his marina are talking about using Rejex instead of wax. Anyone heard anything about it or used it? Manny

The base chemical is used in food cooking oils as a foam retarder

Siloxane ....http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siloxane Only time will tell if it lasts as long as wax.

Whats in a Name

I am not so sure that the name alone isn't reason for hesitation.

Interesting

"What makes RejeX stand out from other polishes is not just its ability to keep the boat cleaner longer, but the fact that it works on just about every non-porous surface." Better get out your buffers and get that gelcoat smooth because oxidized gelcoat is very porous. Still no shortcuts. I spent 2 hours yesterday sanding, buffing and polishing the port side of my cabin top and it looks great. Two coats of Collinite and it will be ready. And for the record, my boat stays very clean, is easy to wash and lasts a whole season with the 2 coats of Collinite.

Tim...

how do you apply and buff out the Collonite? Do you use anything to clean the boat before waxing? I buffed out the boat with some 3M products last year (boat new to me) and applied Collonite. Looked great. I don't want to repeat 3M this year. You and Kathy need to come up for dinner!... Bring the Collinite! Rich

Collonite

We apply and buff by hand. I use a wet applicator pad and I start to remove the wax before it dries completely. I then buff out by hand using a microfiber cloth. Imar boat soap is nice and gentle and it will not strip the wax either. Dinner sounds nice.
