After motor sailing last weekend for about 4 hrs as I returned to the slip I started to lose power as I tried to increase speed. I backed off and the engine ran at the lower rpm fine, but as I tried to raise rpm it started smoking (white ) and rpms fell off. It stablized and after mooring I run it at high speed both fwd & rev no smoke no issues. Could it just been bad fuel or what?? I am at a loss, can't dup.

I had a similar problem with a 1gm10. Turned out to be a clogged fuel pick up tube in the tank. Clog was caused by tank crap.

Sounds good to me

If it is reving up fine now, it probably sucked some junk up clogging the screen. How much fuel was in the tank at the time? You might want to check and change your Racor fuel filter. Is it a 2QM15? That is what I have.

You also may want to consider checking your impeller...to make sure it hasn't lost a vane or two that are now plugging your mixing elbow.
