I have a 15 year old Universal 25. Seeing some white smoke, esp at high RPM.Coolant has gone down so Im thinking headgasket, but no water in oil. Anything else this could be?
your engine may be running hot enough to turn the exhaust cooling water into steam. Check that out first since it is easy to check. Anything over 175 degrees can do that.
I'm not sure where all this is stored in my brain - but: When you say high RPM I think you are talking about high power settings. Means your engine is straining. not enough horsepower to quite drive the boat. I'd start with a book from the library. It may be carbon build-up fouled injectors or something like that. I'm not at all sure it has to be something as serious as a head gasket. How about keeping the forum informed.Cheers
White smoke can indicate the engine is not recieving the correct amount of intake. Do you have loss of power? What filtration system do you have for your intake manifold?
