Many years ago I discover that my wife's Fiskars 9115 Smooth Action Anvil Pruner worked incredibly well at cutting battery cable, far better than most other hand held tools. Unless I am cutting 4/0 this is pretty much what I use...

I took your advice and used these with great success. However after about a dozen cuts of 2/0 I found they have dulled significantly. Do you re sharpen or just get a new pair?

I just sharpen them. I have about 8 pair (I buy them on summer close out at Wal*Mart for about $6.00, and when they all start to get dull I spend about 15 minutes and sharpen them... I think I've only thrown one pair out that was just really abused....
