Peggie, Is there any way to get rid of odor embedded it cabin plywood? My boat was flooded w/rain water when I bought it. The holding tank did not get submerged. I think there may have been a previous odor problem. There were several "stick-ups" and a couple of buckets of charcoal throughout. I have gutted the cabin, scrubbed the inside with a de-greaser, scrubbed the pieces of cabin teak plywood. I have several pieces of plywood (already scrubbed) laying on my deck outside and you can still get a whiff of a musty/oily smell. Everything was coated with a black flaky crust after the water drained out and it dried. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thank You, Bryon

I think it might time for some chlorine

Plenty of fresh air, sunshine and enough time will eventually get rid of the smell...but if you don't want to wait a year, spraying all the wood with Tilex or a similar product and plenty of light and fresh air will kill off the remaining mold and mildew spores. However, if you can still smell oil, more cleaning with a strong degreaser is needed first.
