Define "non-drinkable." Many of the Chesapeake wells are shallow, contain sulfate that reduces to sulfide in the tank, and smell like rotten eggs. Is this the problem?
If so, this does not permeate into the plastic and is easily removed with any oxidizing agent, like bleach or hydrogen peroxide. Google to find different peoples ideas on doseage; the truth is, the dose varies with the water. Rinse.
BTW, I hope you're running the RO off the tap water and not the Bay itself; the marina tap is certainly safer than marina water, where oil contamination can ruin you membranes. And of course, once you RO the water you will not have any chlorine in the tank, so you'll need to use it more quickly.
Bottled water might be simpler. That's what I did until the marina drilled a deeper well.
