Smelly Hoses and Tank!

Can you tell me how to keep your hoses and tank from smelling. We replaced our hoses a year ago and once again they smell and we don't even use the toliet except on weekends and that is only to wet in. Then we empty the tank at the end of the weekend. Someone told us we need to keep water in the tank at all times. Is this so?

Doesn't matter how often the tank is used...

If ANY waste is left sitting in the hose, the hose can permeate in as little as a month. Leaving water in the tank or not makes no difference whatever. Read the articles in the Head Mistress forum Reference Library (right side of the forum homepage)...they'll explain why things stink and how to keep 'em from stinking.
