Don't have the problem myself. Maybe a solar powered vent would help prevent a buildup.

Is your boat new?

Maybe thats why the smell is so strong, I leave the hatch open (2006 mod) while it is shedded but would expect the glue smell will be there for a while.

Apparently, the plastic smell is permanent...

I have a 99 Mac X. It has been extremely well cared for, kept clean, and never trashed. I notice the "fiberglass" odor also, but it's not extreme. It has a "new boat" odor when kept closed for a few days. When the hatch is opened, the fiberglass/plastic odor departs. We've overnighted on the boat, on land and on the water, with no problems. We always have a small vent. We use A/C when its hot, and screened hatchways when weather is cool.

It can go away with time

During summer, hot weather, leave the boat open to breath, as much as practical. This is where a good tarp comes in handy. The volatile chemicals outgassing from the cured resins and sealants will eventually diminish to be not noticeable. Heat and air circualtion allow this. Whe the boat is open, leave all doors, hathces open so air freely circulates to the bilge and all corners of the boat. Another way is to use an appropriate fiberglass paint or sealer on the interior to cover all reachable bilge or compartment areas where the fiberglas is exposed to the air. I've done each of the above effectively. When I got my new X back in 1997, I did both. Result was no epoxy or paint odor after a month. Now to keep out insects and keep down dust, plus to have a pleasant scent in the boat, each major compartment has a single piece of unused anti-cling dryer sheet, like Bounce, in it. Cheap and works like a charm.
