If it works for your environment keep it.
Ron: Unless you are having problems with the charger or it does not work with the type of batteries that you have or are planning to have, I would not mess with it. Many of the old chargers did not work well with AGM or Gel batteries. Also some of the new chargers will treat your batteries a little kinder than some of the older chargers. A new Smart-Charger will probably run you from $250-400 USD, so you really want to be sure that you need one before you buy one.
