Hi everyone,

New to the forums. Just bought a 1977 C27 and want to get it into a smaller slip with a better location and cheaper monthly rate. Because of the outboard, the boat measures 28' 10" and they're making us stay in a 29ft slip.

One option we've thought of for "shrinking" the boat w to replace the oversized pulpit we have but I can't find the standard pulpit anywhere. Any sources for used ones?

Thanks for any ideas and help.

Eric

I'm in a 25 foot slip, they usually allow up to 3 feet overage. Find a marina that will let you put the 27 in a 25 foot slip. Don't waste your time with this project. Negotiate with the marina. Where are you located? Down here there are plenth of slips. Let them make you a deal... it's not worth spending hundreds of dollars to save 8 inches. If you have to, measure the boat again...this time from the bow, not the pulpit. Drop the motor down, too.

But the real test is to walk around the marina and see where the other Cat 27's are slipped... yes there will be lots of them..... If you see a Cat 27 in a 25 foot slip... bring it to the manager's attention and request the same consideration.

Yeah, we've done all of that and the marina we're at is the cheapest in the area anyway so someone else's 25's are about the same as the 29 I'm in. They do have two C27s in the 25 slips that are almost like ours but they're grandfathered in before the new marina owners took over. We're looking at other options, like changing the motor mount, to get around this. It's just annoying. . . and $900 per year out the window.

Thanks for the feedback.
