Small Screws outside cabin

I noticed a row of small screws on the outside of the cabin, right
where it meets the deck, roughly 24" apart. Do these hold the trim up
inside the cabin?
The reason I ask is that the only water leak in the boat I'm looking at
is about where one of these screws is, level with the main bulkhead,
port side.

Thanks!

Peter.

Peter: These just hold the trim on the inside of the cabin. Pull them out
one by one, dab on a bit of polysulfide, and put them back in . Leaks fixed.

Hi Peter

This is teh usual place for teh Vega to leak. Best bet is take out the
screws, fill the holes with epoxy or similar and finish. Attach the inside
wood trim with a few blobs of polyeurethane sealant (Sikaflex or similar),
works a treat and stops those leaks permantly.

Cheers

Yes, they hold the trim up. Comes time to rebed them because of leaks, I suggest you take the trim down and fill the holes, then redrill (very carefully). The holes tend to get enlarged and don't hold a screw tight, and leak..Nicholas Walsh
