Small Outboard Motor Stands

I’m looking for a design for a sturdy, movable outboard motor stand. Preferably one that can hold 2 outboard motors. Mine are the smaller ones, 2.3 HP and 3.5 HP, about 30 - 40 pounds each.
I would like to build one that I can wheel around my garage, and store them out of the way during the off season, but need some measurement's to do so.
What do you use, or have made?
Thank you for your help.

OK, please forgive the disgraceful condition, both of the stand and my garage!

The stand in the pic has been in use for several years, typically left outside except in the winter. I keep my Tohatsu 8 HP 2-cycle on it. About 55 lbs. 2x4's, 2x8 braces at the bottom, and OSB cross braces up higher. All secured with 3" drywall screws. Perhaps if you rotated the uprights 90 degrees there would be enough space between the upper cross pieces to allow you to tighten the hold-downs. If not, try 2x6 or 2x8 lumber. You could add wheels at either side, but I think you would need to run the axle (perhaps a piece of all-thread?) all the way across.

Even with small motors, two is a lot of weight. Be careful.

Easy to make out of wood. Mine also has wheels on one end of the lower boards. I can tilt the stand and roll easily. I'm not home or I'd take pictures.

A saw horse works fine. Easy to make with scrap lumber. Add wheels if desired. All I’ve used for years. You can then put a wastebasket under the motor fill it with water to run it. Good to flush the motor or tune it up and make sure it starts in the spring. You can make the sawhorse as long or short as you want. Dumpsters in front of new house construction have lengths of 2x4’s and 2x6’s plus other scraps so materials can be just the cost of screws.

Built mine to fit in a space in the garage. As stated above, used scrap lumber, works great. Mine fits 2 small outboards. The photo shows my old Mercury 3.5 HP. My new Honda is being used right now, so not in the photo. But it does hold both. With motors on it, it all stands about 48” tall and the weight is centered.
I went with low profile casters (2” off the ground) to keep it low to the ground and lessen any tipping issues. Wheels around perfectly. As you can tell from the pictures, I had some extra left over so I added the tray to hold oil, pliers, screw drivers etc. The stuff I need.
All glued except for the cross beam, which is removable. (3” Screws from bottom to secure the 2 uprights, 1 5/8” screws for everything else.
Here are the measurements you asked for
Base - 15“ x 25”
Overall Height - 38” (Upright 2 x 4’s are 35 1/2 “ off the base)
Holding Brackets - 3 1/2” x 7 1/2” (holds the cross beam, removable)
45 Degree Braces - 7 1/2 “ long
2 x 4’s cut to 35 1/2”
25” Motor Mount Cross beam
Some day, if I find myself which extra paint and a brush in my hand…..I may paint it.
Good luck with your build.

I built a stand similar to this on a movers dolly. I will get pictures this afternoon.

After building a stand much like the others here, I made the uprights much longer so that they can serve as handles. It makes it much easier for two people to carry the motor and stand (I have lots of stairs, so wheels weren't going to help).
