Slugs and Shackles

I recently purchased a 1978 oday 25 that I love. It is in great shape, but I do need to replace some mainsail slugs and shackles. For some reason, I am having trouble finding the proper replacements. The local West Marine store was not a lot of help. What would be the best replacement: size, brand, etc.? Thanks.

Alan, The slugs and shackles should be no problem at all. We just bought a new main for our 25 from Doyle Sails. When the guy from the sail loft came out to measure our boat, he had a key ring of all the different sizes of slugs and luff ropes. I would suggest that you contact your local sail loft if you cannot find them at West Marine. Or, you could always contact Rudy at D&R Marine. Michael Gordon

Alan, I found them at Boat US. in my area. They wern't the same mfg. but they were the right size and worked fine. Ron
