Hi I have a 2GM20F which has been running very well. Yesterday started giving me problems during acceleration. In neutral it will run right up to 3000 rpm with no hesitation. In gear it will surge and hesitate on its way to 2500 RPM. Once 2500 rpm is reached it runs constant with no hesitation. The lift pump was replaced approx 500 to 600 hours ago. I dove on it and all is clear and clean. Could this be injectors?

I would suspect air in the fuel lines or a plugging fuel pick-up tube in the tank.. Make sure the banjo fittings and hose connections on the suction side of the lift pump are good and if not that then suspect the fuel pickup.. Could be lots of other stuff too but I would start with easy/cheap first.. Happy Hunting
