Slug Gate....

I posted this on the Mac Forum, but thought it might be of some use to someone here also........



I made the simple slug gate above the other day in order to get the flaked sail down closer to the boom so that the anticipated sail cover/sail pack we are making wouldn't have to be so high.

Here it is.....

Another good idea Sumner :)

A fellow Sandpiper owner who's a retired machinist devised a great mast insert for our little boats, and it's been really popular with owners:





We bought one from him last year, and had slugs put on our mainsail, and sail raising/lowering/reefing is now a breeze.

This might give you some ideas when you get around to version 2 ;)

Those are very nice. I take a kind of 'quick and dirty' approach to a lot of stuff I make and probably have about an hour into the one I build ;).

Talking about dirty, my shop isn't near as clean as his either :cry:,
