Hi guys we have our B293 out of the water for annual maintainance and we noticed a bit of slop in the rudder (maybe 1-2mm at the lower bearing)
Is this normal? It seems that the only bearing surfaces are the nylon bushes top and bottom of the rudder housing. Are these replacement items? I gather the rudder post is held in place by the pinned collar. Is there any way of tightening the rudder without removing it? I have tried the forums archives without success.
Incidentally while the boat was out we thought we would replace the protective strip around the transom joint and do a bit of minor reapir under the strip where it had obviously had a few dings. It is no minor repair!! Previous owner had obviously had a major incident and puttied up the transom inside and out. I am having to grind out the putty inside and fiberglass the joint and cut back, repair and paint much of the stern. BOATS!!!!:cussing:
Thanks
