The throttle on my 310 walks back to an idle almost immediately. I have rigged a velcro strip to hold it in place but would really like to have it operate as it should. Has anyone else had this problem and how did you fix it.

Somewhere in the run of the throttle cable there may be a kink or something fouling it up. You should also check the connection at the engine and in the pedestal. If there is too much tension on the cable, it will walk back. Those are rather simple fixes. You should have someone else with you if you're working at the engine, though. It will save you the frustration of running back and forth to see if you have it right!!
There's also a screw in the pedestal on the throttle handle that adjusts friction. I needed to mess with it last year when adjusting my RPM maximum.

Hello R: GPD mentioned a "screw in the pedestal" to maintain the tension on the cable. You will need to remove the compass - be sure to mark the compass and the base so you get it back to the original location - and then you will see what you need to do to get-to and tighten the screw between the lever and the cable. Don't worry, you can't mess it up. Tighten it good so you don' have to do it again.

Those are long S.S. screws that hold the assembly together, they are in aluminum, they will most likely be frozen, be very patient or you will twist them off, or strip out the heads. It is very difficult to get PB Blaster down to where it will do any good without drilling a small hole in the plastic plate and using a tube to direct the BP Blaster to where it is needed.
