has anyone sailed a slipper 17 i see all kinds of things about them but nothing about how they sail i just bought one and am working getting it into the water how well does it sail to weather if at alll

An aquaintance refurbed 1 lasy spring and sailed it for the summer. Said it didn't point that well but his centerboard was missing and he thought it would do a lot better with the board.
He said it was good through all other points of sail. Also fun and surprising stable. He sold it but for reasons other than performance.

Been sailing mine without the CB for several weeks now. Sweet little boat. Very solid in heavy winds, if you manage your sails and helm well. Goes to windward OK as long as you don't pinch (try to head too close to the wind with sheets too tight). Very fast on close reach through run.
