Sliding hatch cover/garage

I am about to purchase a vega 27 with a missing sliding hatch
garage/cover. Is a replacement available or can this part be
fabricated? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

"Upgrading The Cruising Sailboat" by Dan Spurr, International
Marine/McGraw Hill, has a few pages describing the construction of a
sea hood. I have not done it but the instructions seem clear.
