Interested in buying a Catalina 30 (1984). Dwight is 6'4" and we are concerned about being able to fit in a double berth or V-berth comfortably. Any big people out there who could comment/advise?!!

sleeping quarters

I'm 6-3 and have an '88 C30 and I love the boat but I have to admit there really is no comfortable berth for me in the boat. I guess that is the compromise made for the huge cockpit and main cabin. The aft berth is long enough but not good for sleeping two unless one of you doesn't mind having zero headroom. The V-berth is too short front to back but I found that I just fit if I sleep on the diagonal. P.S. The berth slopes down so you have to sleep with your head towards the bow. Good luck. Its a great boat otherwise! Jim

Sleeping

I'm 6'4" and have been living aboard my 30 for a little over 3 years. I sleep in the V-berth and it is comfortable for me.
