Last season I noticed a strange sound whenever under power. I think the best way to describe it is a "slapping" sound under the hull, aft of the stuffing box, when in gear (more in forward than reverse). I had the boat dived on, and the diver found nothing unusual. Something worth mentioning is that I installed a dripless stuffing box prior to launch last season.I've seen a few postings here regarding "vibrations" and possible causes such as bent shaft, bad cutlass bearing, etc., but it's not a vibration so much as it is a sound as if a piece of line is wrapped around the shaft and hitting the hull. Yes, the diver checked for that! The boat is in the water for winter storage, but will be coming out in a month or so. I'm wondering what I should be looking for. I'm going to check the above mentioned items(couldn't hurt), but I still think it might be something else. Any ideas????Thanks!
