We've been going crazy, like everyone else, waiting to get back on the water. The day finally came yesterday when weather and commitments came together on the same day, so we headed for the hills. As we always do, when it's a single day of sailing, we decided to take Tweety, the little Victoria 18, because it's literally a 15 minute setup from ramp to splash. Almost all our trips last year were multi day trips, so we were on the Mac 25. Did we get spoiled or what? The Vic just seems so cramped. we were stumbling over each other all day, and swearing at the tiny cabin ever time we needed something that was stored below. The Mac generally took about an hour+ to set up last year, but I have made a couple changes to shave minutes off here and there. I may have to find even more minutes to shave and re-think this multi-boat thing
. All that being said.... it sure was great to be on the water again. the boat was too small, the wind was a fluky 2-22mph in any 15 minute time period, the fishing was slow (caught one nice rainbow) and the wind was chilly. but all and all, it was still the BEST day of the year so far
