Size of tubes on swim ladder

So I am going back down to my boat in Mexico in a couple weeks and know the little rubber things (crutch tips) on my swim ladder are shot. Is there anyone that can measure or knows the size of the tubing used on the swim ladder on a 1990 35.5 Legend? either 7/8 or 1 inch...

I just happen to have a pair here at home so I"ll go measure them. They are 7/8".

I saw a tip somewhere to put a washer inside to keep the end of the tubing from cutting into the rubber. Mine didn't stay on long enough to see if it worked, I found tube caps at a big box store that serve the same purpose and have helped keep one of the tips on, might need to try something (4200?) to help the other one. May rust out, but cheap to replace.

I got sick of losing my crutch tips, so I just put a glob of clear silicone where the tip would go and it works!

Sewing covers for crutch tips

So in the desert the sun eats them in a season, so I made little booties to cover them. Never have a problem loosing them, just keeping them alive....

Enjoying my sailrite LSZ-1 machine. Canvasing everything, just re-upholstered all my salon cushions... Darn they look sharp.

Thanks for the idea, maybe I might glue them on with silicone....

The crossed stern lines pull mine off. I don't think silicone would hold them.

I put Ss washers under mine, and a little glue to hold them on. 5200 would be great but I'm not buying a tube of it for that little job. Super Glue will hold then on for quite a while, maybe til the sun eats them up. Haven't seen black ones, but they will last longer of you can find them.
