I have downloaded SeaClear's ECS (free)onto my laptop and got my GPS (Garmin 76) to work with SeaClear. Now I need to learn where I can find charts to load into SeaClear and how to do that? What sites are available? Is there any forum for learning about and discussing Electronic Charting Systems(ECS)?

What extension do the charts have

Most charting software has propriatary maps that they want you to buy, but not all. Do you know the .xxx extension that your charting software needs. .000 and .bsb are avalable at NOAA for free

Maptech uses .bsb and .kap extensions

They also have a chart software for free. It works great except it will not interface with a GPS. The GPS version costs $50 I think. Seaclear freeware will talk to a GPS though.

free .bsb charts

What I read on the NOAA site is that their charts are not available...how do you find/download a free chart on the NOAA site?
