On my Vega, the sink works with the foot pump and all. But right next to where the sink spigot comes through the wood surface, there is a second fitting about an inch or two to the right. On my boat, it is not connected. Does anyone know what this is for?

thanks,
gh

Hi gh,
It's probably a place for a second (salt water) spigot. Most Vegas
I've seen have two spigots and two footpumps: one for fresh water from
the tank and one for salt water from the sea.
Sounds like one of yours has been removed.

That makes sense. There is a second slot on the cabinet near the floor where another foot pedal could have been.

Another question..
Inside the first sliding door compartment on the starboard side floor there is a valve connected to a hose. The other end of the hose goes nowhere. Any idea what this is for?

That is the feed for the salt water tap in the sink. If you open the
valve then you will find plenty of sea water!!
