Sink in C&C 30 MK I?

The sink in my 1982 C&C 30 has a hole. I told my mate that scrubbing the rust so aggressively was a mistake:)

Has anyone found a replacement SS sink which fits? There are literally 100s of SS bar sinks online but I've yet to find one that's the exact size. I could probably epoxy it and get a few more years but if there's a replacement which comes close to fitting I'd rather change it

I'd be curious myself.

Our sink is in perfect condition, but I occasionally wish it was deeper.

I expected finding one that would simply need a slightly bigger hole would be easy sigh.

I will ask around.

It may be easy, so far I've I only looked for an exact fit. I haven't removed the old sink (it appears to be glued in) but I don't think there's a lot of extra room around it.

Me too, but I'm wary of a deeper sink bringing the drain below the water line when the boat is heeled.

That can be manageable. Your sink drain should be on it’s own through hull. Close the through hull while sailing. Open the through hull valve when not heeled.

Yeah mine was like that too but I added a seacock and thru hull directly beneath the sink. Still not sure if I'd want to have to remember to close the seacock every time I'm on a port tack. I can barely remember to take the keys when I leave :(

A mind is a terrible thing to let go to waste.

the galley sink drain sharing the cockpit drain thru hull
That must have been a common method of design. My boat had the same set up. The first heavy PacificNW rain filled the cockpit seat, backed up in the sink and spilled out onto the counter in my boat.

I want to close the thru hulls when I leave the boat, so I built a better mousetrap. I plumbed the cockpit drain out of the hull above the waterline. Easy to do as it was the seat drain in the cockpit that was the problem. Then the only hose on the thru hull was the sink drain. Problem solved

I some times wonder if design engineers ever actually have sailed their own boat designs.
