Have a 1997 26 and am having trouble getting the faucets to work and the one in the galley will sork if I put preassure on the wter bag but then it leaks all over the counter top. Anyone taken these apart to repair, or should I just replace with better ones? Thanks

Repairing

If you take the 2 wood screws out&lift the faucet assembly out you will be able to disassemble and repair. There is a large number of screws to remove the bottom half of assembly-take those out and you will be able to see the guts.a very simple plunger device. Take it to a hardware store and have them match up the o-rings that are worn out and that should fix it, if that doesn't, a new, similar style faucet runs under 40 bucks I think

Try...

plugging the faucet in the head and see if the galley one works then. If so , you need to clean out the check valves on both faucets so they can seal.

How about the plastic fittings?

I've had both of the fittings for the bottom of the pum[ break, with very little effort I might add. Has anybody ever replaced those? Mike Pajewski H26 "Loon"

Had to replace mine.

No matter how hard you try to eliminate all the water from the lines at the end of the season, some remains. In the area where I live, that little bit of water freezes. When it does, you can expect the valve to crack and break. Call Mike Thomas at Hunter and maybe he can help you with replacement valves. I now remove the valve from the bottom of the pump, at the end of the season. So far I have had no further problems. Bob Gravenstine

Thanks everyone...

I think I an going to replace them with ones from Boat/US for about $39 each that include an electric pump. Hey, it's a silboat, you're supossed to spend time and money on them, aren't you? :)

Broken check valve

Those check valves must break easily due to their proximity to anything going under the sink. Couldn't find a replacement so I repaired it with some epoxy. When I moved on to overhauling the rest of the fixture I found it beyond repair and replaced it with West Marine hardware. I'm sure the galley fixture will soon follow. Tom
