Sink Faucet Valves

I would like to locate better replacement valves for the faucets in the galley and head of our Hunter 260. The current ones are plastic and are just not tough enough. They are self-sealing, one way valves and are not holding pressure enough to keep pumping water after one or two times. Does anyone know where I can get a more durable valve? Thanks for your help

Yes you can. take one of those ugh suckers to a good hardware store. You will find something better. I have seen it done

Manual faucets?

When our boat was new (2000), we had a hard time keeping the faucets primed. The black disk in the valve would not hold. After taking it apart we found small slivers and pieces of fiberglass and plastic in it. Apparently these were in the tank or lines when installed. After a few times of filling and emptying the water tank we got all the stuff out and the faucets held the pressure just fine for months or even trailering 1000 miles.We eventually changed both faucets to Whale brand because the seals around the handles kept wearing out and leaking all over the counters every time we pumped.
