I remove my lifesling from the cockpit after getting back in the slip. This prevents some of the long term damage from the sunlight. It also allows me to check the security of attachment to the boat every time we leave the dock.

Good discussions. I think we can all agree that there is no one best way to retrieve a MOB but, rather, a best way under the immediate circumstances. The more tools we have in that proverbial toolbox the better. We can never be too prepared.
