my original throttle cable snapped at the control head end on my '77 ODay 25 with inboard. I'm trying to disassemble the cable from the control head so I can find replacement. Has anyone done this before? I can remove the cotter pin from the control arm and that releases the end of the cable but the cable sleeve itself is attached to a bracket on the control head. Is it just pressure fitted into a "V" fitting. I can twist it with a vise grip but can't dislodge it from the "v". Any ideas? I'm guessing that the "barrel" fitting that holds the cable sleeve to the control has a indented ring that is pressure fitted in the "V" bracket on the control? Can it be removed for replacement. Thanks for any throttle advice.
