By a strange series of events Sin Tacha, my Albin Vega #1331, has found a new caretaker. I guess she was tired of playing second fiddle to our new Ballad so took matters into her own hands. Her new home will be near the southerly end of Puget Sound. Hopefully her new owner will join the forum and reap the benefits of all the good advice available.

Yes, I'll be at the 2013 Pacific Northwest Rendezvous, although by boat or by car will be determined by how quickly I get done on the Ballad.

I'll continue to monitor this list, and even throw in an opinion or two, as it's possibly the best boating forum on the web!

We already knew Peter. John and Ann have been corresponding with us
for some time. Sin Tacha is the fourth Vega they have looked at in
their search for a boat. They sent us an excited email when they
finally "Scored". We are sure she is in good hands and hope they
come to the Rendezvous so we can all meet them.

Hi Peter!

It would be very interesting to hear your opinion about the Ballad contra the Vega. Is it worth an upgrade? What do you get for the extra money you put in?

Best regards,

Hi Björn,
I\'m not sure you should compare the Vega and the Ballad ... it\'s a bit like apples to oranges. The Ballad is a bigger boat, which has it\'s advantages and disadvantages. Everything on the Ballad is one size larger and heavier. Some things I do like are "almost" standing headroom, and a bit more room everywhere.

The Vega is the best boat I\'ve ever owned ... pretty hard to beat in all respects, so I\'m not even sure I\'m doing the right thing. But the die is cast, so it\'s full speed ahead and get the Ballad finished. I\'ll post some comparisons after having sailed it for a while.

As for the extra money ... I try not to think about that. My boats have always been a source of enjoyment rather than an investment ;-)
