Signet SL172 instrument

I would be very interested if anyone has a Signet SL 172 Depthsounder instrument that they are willing to part with.

Mine dies last weekend and I'd like to swap in a replacement as we are leaving on vacation shortly.

If the transducer is still working, and the display has failed, it is fairly easy to install a compatible display. That will allow you to avoid hauling out in the short term.

the 172 used a 200 khz transducer with a 18º beam.

So a Raymarine ST60 display should work. (Or other display that uses a 200khz transducer)

I sent my old Signet depthsounder and knotlog back to them for a rebuild a couple of years ago and was very pleased with their work. I understand that you have a short fuse and maybe don't have time to wait..
To repair both instruments was around $530..

Thanks Kloudie. I'll be calling them as soon as they open to see what the possibilities are. Time is short and I would like to avoid the bumpitty bump approach to depth finding while we're away

There has to be some used ones somewhere in Quebec. They seemed to be in every boat in the 80s.

Alas I simply threw mine in the garbage. Not much demand locally.

There's a nice, refurbished one on eBay right now for $130 or best offer, plus $15 shipping. How can you go wrong?
