siesta key beach info

heading to siesta key beach this afternoon for a wedding. Spending the weekend there. Not looking forward to 3 days shopping and sitting on the beach collecting UV rays as my other half would want it to be done. SUre it sounds nice but alittle goes a long way.
I am looking for any marinas to walk and ogle the craft. Preferably a liveaboard marina were sailboats reside. I just love looking at boats, could spend all day just looking. SO, help a guy out and reccomend a marina in or near siesta key beach, I am eternally grateful.
It also aides in revitalizing my efforts to get back to work on "free willy".

Have you checked active captain or cruisers net for marina's?

Nothing within walking distance. There is a mooring field up by the Sarasota Yacht Club. Marina Jack is a marina that's also in Sarasota bay. You could anchor out in Roberts Bay depending on your draft. It's close to Siesta Key but I don't think you have much to the beach from there.

as stated, you could do a walk around Marina Jack's. There is a fancy restaurant there, but the affordable food with more colorful patrons is served slighty out of sight, in a large tiki hut at the edge of the anchorage there. A nice place to grab a sandwich and beer and watch the boats. Then get on highway 41 north, for just a few miles, and turn west on Cortez Blvd. Take it to the the little town of Cortez and take in the small boat museum. Then cross 41 to the marina "Sea Food Shack" which caters mostly to sail boats.
