Oday 27 Erie, PA
Hello, all.
My recently purchased used O'Day 27 is nearing launch. One issue remains, however. My lower sidestays were missing turnbuckle parts. The swaged wire end is threaded 1/4-28, but uses a 5" turnbuckle body, from Hayn, I believe.
Does anyone know where I might find a 5" open turnbuckle body with 1/4-28 thread? I also require 5/16" jaw toggles to match the 5/8" hole in the chain plate.
(I guess you might say it's a 5/16" pin turnbuckle - just drilled & tapped for 1/4"-28 thread.)
The current Hayn 1/4"-28 set up (14FBJ) uses a much lighter 4-1/2" body and 1/4" pin jaw toggles.
Any ideas would be appreciated! :)

I don't know your area but there must be a sailboat rigging shop close by where you can bring the stay with whatever you need to match up and see if you can get the parts locally. There are quite a few in my area including D & R Marine which has most if not all of the parts for O'Days.
http://www.drmarine.com/ If you don't have any success in your area, call Rudy at D & R Marine.
