Shudder

In 10-15 Kts of wind my Hunter 310 has a rhythmic shudder only on a port tack. I can't feel it in the helm...just in the seat of the pants. In identical conditions a starboard tack is smooth and shudder-free. I'm new with the B&R rig. Where do I try tuning?

You might check the rudder quadrant area to see if you have unusual wear at the post or if the Delrin support ring is still bolted down tight to the plywood supporting it. You should be able to c heck this with the boat in the slip; presumably you have an access panel to inspect and/or remove the rudder quadrant. Try to move the quadrant side to side and front to back. Side to side wear & wobble could show up as a harmonic on only one tack.
