I have a 1982. After stepping the mast this spring, I adjusted out the laterel curve it had from when I bought it in 2005. Comparing it to my neighbors 1986 he has more aft bend in his mast. He does expierance pupming at the dock in 12-15 knot winds where mine does not. I have a Loos gauge. Does anyone have Loos readings from their mast where it has been succesfully tuned?

Oday 28 East Tawas
Manual

Gents; There was a link posted on this forum a while back (month?) which hooked up to a guy in Florida with copies of old O'day manuals. I ordered one for my 28 and it mostly covers spars and standing rigging. There is quite a bit of detail on how to set the rig but no mention of specific numbers for tension. Look in the archives for the link. As I recall it costs about ten bucks to get a copy.

I do have the manual

but after chocking the partners to match the mast pin wear marks on the collar and with the mast bend of ~ 2" the rake is ~ 4" at the gooseneck vs. 7" straight as speced in the manual. I do have a roller furling so I can not measure the tension on the forestay. Instead of starting from scratch I thought that I could cut the chase to the end results thu the final tension values. Maybe I will bring my tension gauge to the rOnDayvous.
