Real numbers?
I have all the "manuals" for my '79 H37C and there are no load numbers published. All that I have found are percentages based on the rating of your wire. See Related Link and then read "Spar Talk". You should also search "Forum Archives" for 'rig tension', I think you will find those percentages. Here's one example from the archives(for an H26):"Greg at Hunter Marine informed me via email that 10% for lowers and 20% for uppers is correct. Since the shrouds are 3/16 stainless, the breaking strenght is 4700lbs. So, lowers should be tensioned to 470#, uppers to 940#. (note, Greg only confirmed the percentages, I got the pounds from other sources). Greg also says that 1 degree is the appropriate amount of mast rake."I have seen the 10%/20% mentioned for many boats.
