Shroud Teltales

I recently bought a set of teltales for the shrouds. The instructions call for deciding were to mount. Is there an optimum height for teltails on the shrouds? How far up from the deck is best?

Arms length over your head

That should catch the mid-breeze and preclude having to look up atop the mast at the velometer (arrow).
