I'd like to fly flags or a burgee off my back stay or shrouds. I saw a guy do it but could not see what he was using. I searched on "stay clips" and "shroud clips" but saw nothing. Anyone what the proper name of the these clips are and where I might find them? Thanks.

Halyard clips

are available at WM for about 6 bucks a pair. Mount a small block from the starboard spreader (many have a mount there already) and reeve a 1/4" line down to a shroud cleat. Go to http://www.westmarine.com and search for "shroud cleat". Another search for "halyard clip" or "flag clip" will turn those up as well.

I already have a spreader halyard...

But I want to fly things off my shrouds and backstay.

Brian , A prusik knot will let you attach and

and raise and lower an attachment on a stay or shroud. You just need a boat hook.

Thanks Ross

I'll keep that in mind. Didn't think about using any kind of knot.
