This summer I was unfortunate enough to dismast my boat in the Chesapeake bay during a hard blow. I ordered a new mast from Rudy at DR and have just completed all the things needed to get the new mast installed (coax, anchor light, antenna etc). I replaced the chain-plates with a heavier design suggested by Rudy. Since both shrouds land on the same chain-plate could someone tell me if the upper shroud is landed in front of the lower or does it really matter since they are so close together? Pardon my ignorance but I never take them off (unless a 50K wind does it for me). My old mast is in two pieces but if anyone wants any parts off of it they are welcome to them. Thanks.
