Helloooooooo!

My partner bought me a 1978 Newport 17 that's a little rough around the edges. One of the shroud adjusters is a little bent at the deck-end, so I have a couple questions y'all might be able to answer:
  • Is it possible to bend it back? If so, how would I do that?
  • I can't find adjusters online that match the ones that are on it now (11cm long, 1cm wide 13 holes), so if I replace the bent one, I'll replace both. Any suggestions on which ones to purchase? What's more important - overall length or number of holes?
Thank you!!

First... Welcome to SBO. Annd congrats on your new boat.

I have used a variety of adjustable tensioners on boats. Take a picture of yours and post it here. We may be able to help if we can see what you are seeing.

Your boat size suggests it is a "sailing Dinghy" class of boat. Harken, Ronstan, and Garhauer Marine (https://www.garhauermarine.com/) all make great equipment that can serve the needs of a boat like yours.

It is possible the 1978 parts used on the Newport 17 are no longer being manufactured. So the task now becomes finding something similar that can serve your boat's setup.
