Has anyone installed a shower in the cabin of an H-27 Cherubini? We have installed a pressure water spray nozzle out in the cockpit which works fine for summer but the kids are complaining about it being too cold in the winter time. I would not have a problem hooking up a shower head by the lavatory but it is the draining of the water that I would be interested in if someone has done it or has a few ideas. I think there is no room to to install a sump system but was wondering about opening up a 4 inch hole and installing a drain plate with the water draining into the inside hull to find its way into the bilge. I have also thought about using a sun shower through the hatch and using a shower courtain wrapped in a circle with the water draining into a little inflatable kiddie pool to be emptied afterwards. Any ideas would be appreciated.

draining a shower

In general, it's not a good idea to just let the shower drain into the bilge. It tends to get smelly after a while, with all that dirty soap and body scum and stuff collecting down there. I have a 37C so its quite different from yours, but my shower drains through a 3/4" or 1" plastic though-hull fitting in the bottom of the shower. A 3/4" or 1" hose then goes to a small sump in the bilge. The small hose drains kind of slow but not bad. It's a pretty short straight shot to the sump. I have read somewhere about someone using the kiddie pool idea though. Maybe you could get a small bilge pump with a built-in switch and make it portable so you could put it in the pool and discharge into the lav.
