I'm a new H26 (1994) owner. Has anyone tried doing anything with a shower in the head. Of course, there wouldn't be enough water for a slow, luxurious wash, but perhaps a quick Navy shower?

Doubt it's practical...
...no way to install a drain and pump without elevating the floor because the ballast tank is directly below. Head height is already limited enough. My solution: a 5-gallon sun shower that I hang on the mast crutch. Good for rinsing off after a swim, haven't tried a full blown shower.

In order to have a shower, you must have a low place in the floor first to put a drain. Basically, the floor in the head is over the water ballast tank. That is your first major problem. Someone was talking about cutting out part of the tank to install. I can tell you the cost and manhours is unthinkable. Also, I would not recommend altering the tank itself. You can put on a sunshower as suggested. With the 260, you can add a transom shower as you have a large fresh water holding tank This I have done already. Crazy Dave Condon

One more small issue...
Even if you could overcome the drain issue, do you carry enough fresh water to have enough to spare for even "navy" showers? Two people will use at least 2 gallons apiece. Two showers each is a minimum of 8-10 gallons of water--a lot if you only carry 25 gallons and it has to last you 4 days.

I HAVE A HUNTER 240 AND HAVE THE IDEA OF USING A SOLAR SHOWER FOR QUICK WASH-OFFS AND A HOT WATER SOURCE. THE BAG COULD BE ATTACHED TO THE CABIN TOP WITH BUNGEE CORDS AND HOSE LED INTO THE CABIN FOR DISH WASHING ETC. FOR A SHOWER, THE BAG COULD BE HOISTED WITH A SPARE HALYARD GIVING A FOREDECK SHOWER. In fact, be careful with the solar hot water. The temps we've been having for the past week or so can easily heat water in a bag to over 150 F. Btw...how 'bout turning off your caps lock to post. All caps is the online equivilant of SHOUTING.

Cockpit shower
As a 94 26 owner, we have installed an outside cockpit shower that works well. It made sense with the pressure water system and bladder tank we had already put in. Located the hide-a-way head in the starboard aft cooming area. No leaks, water drains out, use it to wash down stuff as well. We run in salt water so it's nice to wash the OB and rudder after a day along we each other HA HA

pressurized solar shower
You could get one of those solar showers that have a small foot pump so that you can presurize it. That eliminates the need to hoist it up somewhere, just lay it on the deck and pump it up. -Tom

Coleman Pressure Shower
Today in a sporting goods store I saw a shower produced by Coleman that runs on 4 "D" batteries to give you an outdoor pressurized shower. It appears that it can be hooked up to a solar shower water storage bag. Warm water and pressure, what a deal! I haven't tried it, but it looked good in the box. The price was about $25. Bruce
