I have 2 heads on my Beneteau 46 and when a shower sump kicks on in one head to drain shower/sink, the sump pump in the other head kicks on a few moments later even though no water is being evacuated in the alternate head. Both drains are pumped to a single manifold where they and the fridge drain meet to be pumped to the overboard thruhull. It would seem these drain lines would all have backflow preventers. Is this a common problem and idoes anyone know of a solution?

Happens on mine occasionally. Not every time though - probably due to initial water level in one sump or the other. I don't think it is a problem, just a design quirk.

Thx for the reply. This situaution is more of an irritation than a problem. Guests, especially in the middle of the night, complain (and rightly so) of being awakened/startled by the noise of a sump activating in a head that they are not using.
