shower sump pump

We have a 1986 Catalina 30 MKII. When i turn on the shower sump pump it blows out the bow port side valve. Is that normal is it supposed to drain into the bilge.
Help please.

I have a 87 Catalina 30 MK II and the shower simply drains into the sump. The sump pump of course pumps out the stern.

I have a 2005 Catalina 310. Both the shower sump and the refrigerator drain pump out through the seacock that is also used for sea water intake for the head.

Do you shut off any seacocks or thru haul valves

Both my showers drain to a shower sump pump box that pump overboard. I wouldn't want that always draining into my bilge.

I keep all the seacocks closed unless they are in use.
