I was exploring the head on my boat when I discovered a small drain in what I thought was the shower sump. The drain looks like it points aft and starboard. I have looked around and can't figure where it drains to. There must be another sump with a pump in it or does it drain into the bilge? Any ideas?

Round and about

It drains to the sump just in front of the head door,(should be a removable grate there). Then it goes again through a l/2 hole towards the bilge. If you open the bilge and look towards the bow you will see how it works. Not a good system at all.Best to have a cockpit shower. Dennis

that is about it!

That is about it. There should be a hole in the liner that would drain the shower sump into the bilge. There was supposed to be a small piece of hose that connected the sump tot he bilge area. If you are going to really use the shower, then I would suggest that you enlarge the hole and caulk it so water does not get into the liner. This can really stink up the boat.

Thanks but....

I think I am going to plug up the hole that leads to the bilge, because you really don't want grey water there. What I think I will do is put a low profile pump in the shower sump with a manual momentary only switch to activate the pump and pump the sump directly overboard
