Shower/ Spray Port on Transom

I reported about the recently conversion of the freshwater pump system to a pressurized one on my boat. At that time I also added a spray port to the transom and connected it to the pressurized freshwater system.

On a sailing trip over 12 days last summer, I really was looking for a way to have a shower in the evening on the cockpit or at least to rinse up, wash my hairs.
The uses of a plastic shower bag hanging from the boom did not work liable; it broke after a few days. An extra hard container with pump was considered but a spray port connected to the pressurized water system appeared as the better solution.

I found a port commonly used in the RV industry, which has a build in valve, closing and holding the pressure automatically, when no hose is connected.

Home Depot sells ½” flexible plumbing pipe I used to rout to the transom, connected it under the bathroom sink with a ½”-15mm adapter to a T-connector; all parts SeaTech quick connect system.

A fitting connector for the spray port and a small shower head added to a flexible hose, is all what is now needed to plug-in to wash- and rinse up at the cockpit.
